I also want to invest in a decent budget Nikon 35mm!
I have a Nikon FM2. That's a real solidly built camera. I feel that I could throw it down a flight of stairs and it still would work just fine. A great camera for manual focus lenses.

As soon as I have the spare fund, I really want to try to develop my own B&W's, so that I could have a broader understanding of it, plus, so that I could learn this ancient wizardry! Thanks again, for keeping me to pace, RM! I do try to understand it firsthand, but, sometimes, it feels right, just asking the experienced ones!
You are very welcome. www.apug.org is the place to go. You can learn EVERYTHING there. That's how I learned and continue to learn.

I suggest the F3HP. They aren't very expensive, you get a lot more coverage than your typical Nikon and I think usability is quite a bit higher. IMO.
It's not bad for a Nikon, and actually the size and weight are pretty nice to balance out a lens like the 50MP
How do you like your Hi-Matic 9? I have one and I miss shooting it. The shutter is sticky. For some reason it will fire just fine in portrait orientation but when in landscape orientation, the shutter does not want to release.
