I am curious why some people post medium format shots here, and some post them in the medium format image thread? I would expect to see the Mamiya 7 and 500C/M shots in the MF thread, but maybe there is another reason?
Because conversation about film, technique, printing, and capture devices is allowed/encouraged in this thread and discouraged in the medium format thread.

Dear Mike - I know you are on Holiday somewhere, but please hurry back and post. I miss your work.
Sorry, I am out creating images at the moment in NYC. I brought 8 rolls of film and I'll be lucky to get through 3. I was greeted by (weirdly) warm weather, but whenever I have had the time to shoot, it's been pouring.
However one of those rainy afternoons inspired me to head to my sacred refuge - MoMA. Lots of good inspiration there - but I noticed a little bit of "new" photography was shot on film (some digital too, obviously). Long live the gelatin silver print.
I am wondering if anyone objects to me posting these here? Some of them are not originally shot on film but the negative is on transparency film and the print is silver or palladium/gold. I don't know of another thread in this section since 'alt' here is more about lenses/systems than alt process prints.
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. I am always amazed at how people get running dog shots totally in focus (digital or film). I can barely shoot my running children, let alone a dog in a full sprint!

carsten I am not sure. But I rarely check the MF thread. I don't mind if people post them in both.

Excellent tonality in your portrait. Reminds me how I've not shot 35mm in a while.
Thanks. It definitely tests the equipment. The 300mm I use is quite old now but by far my best AF lens. The d300s does a good job too. My old d50 tested my patience. But, and I am sure you know this, the 'would be' best shots are always slightly out of focus.

Some really nice shots recently! I really like your son's portrait, Katie. Great expression! And the running dog is amazing, Zaitz.
Much appreciated!
Palladium toned Kallitype - Great Sand Dunes NP:
With my remaining Platinotype chemicals I did my last 100% 'true' palladium print of the same image as above. It is identical in tonality to this palladium toned kallitype. So I am glad I switched to toned kallitypes to save some money and get the same results.
The gold toned version I like more as a print but can't get to look right scanned:
Well thank you ! I'm not sure my car could even make it.
Palladium toned kallitype:
A photo of Stella from early June when she was about 8-10 weeks old I think.
Found a good way to match the color of the Palladium print by using a warm gray duotone in CS5. The color here is pretty close. It was a small test print so you can see the paper texture a lot more. I ran out of transparencies for negatives! 60 went quick. Taught me to do small test prints.... 17"x66' roll on the way .

Has anybody ever used a Fuji GX 617? I was thinking about renting one for Death Valley (alternatives would be a Texas Leica or an M9, though the latter doesn't offer much value) and it's not super expensive. I have a lot of Velvia for one of those 120 Pano cameras to chew up.
BTW: sirimiri and cineski are also invited to come out. PM me for details.

I wish I had discovered this thread earlier.
The Fuji GX-617 is an extraordinary camera. I have used it for a few years now, and Corposant, happy to provide you any information you need. It would be wonderful for Death Valley.
I am guessing it's "tripod mandatory?" The GSW690's appeal would be that it's (sort of) handholdable. Ditto the M9. The alternative is to use my Mamiya 7 and then stitch digitally (not a bad option either, and it's free).
