Here's a shot from my first foray into slide film. I used expired Velvia 50 (which caused a magenta cast on the film) in my Yashica-Mat EM. Overall a lot of fun and I love looking at the large film positives. When I use up the other expired rolls I'll have to pick up some fresh slide films. Of course waiting for the walmart send out developing almost made me go nuts in anticipation!

I know how monster tank is that GX680, but it is slightly little more heavy over RZ67 or RB, so i got used to that weight, but sure that GW/GSW models are way way lighter.
About V750, i have this and scan 6x9 fine without any issue, you have to check your settings.
The problem is that you can't really carry GX680 for a walkabout, and I don't really want to take it anywhere without a car, which I don't own yet..
Do you use mount which came with v750? I need to look a little closer at it, but I was under impression that it clipped 6x9...

I agree about the weight, that my RZII is a bazooka i feel, so that i bought Mamiya 7II to be my lightweight 6x7 camera, and GSW690III is lightweight that i can carry easily anywhere but it is wide look body, and also it is fixed lens which will limit me sometimes or many times.
Yes, i use the mount of that manufacturer, the one that many people complain about it, even i bought that betterscanning mount, but i got used of the Epson mount and it is doing fine job and i am happy with the results even people don't believe it is perfect mount, in fact my rolls all of them [except 2 or 3 not important] are flat and not curled, so i don't have much problem for mounting them in the scanner.
My slides look bent when inserted. Though I can't feel that the mount squeezes them - they fit naturally.
Now came to think of it, it does clip a little. Not sure if it does to the extent of 6x7 but I do get the edge of the mount if I don't align carefully (not a serious problem since one can crop the edges).
The GW690 is limiting somewhat. I was curious about the 617 panoramic one, but its price is out of my scope - over 250.000yen here. Perhaps acquiring another Fuji or Mamiya7 would do...though, one doesn't really want to lug around 4 cameras..

intense colors. what about velvia 100 vs provia?
Yeah I edited that one through ACR and other adjustments in CS5. Looking at the transparencies it is almost hard to see the difference. A tad bit more saturation in the sand dunes for Velvia 50 and you can see the hint of magenta in the sky/clouds.
So here is the straight (read flat) scan of each.
Provia 100f:
Velvia 50:
Acros dropped on my carpet and didn't bother washing again because I knew I wouldn't use it :
The light here for sunrise is tough. The mountains to the east block the best light. Once the sun is high enough to clear the tops of the mountains then the best light is gone, imo.

Zach, I'd love to see some more Provia from you - that film always gives me the feeling that "it looked just like that when he was there."
Looks pretty good in B&W too. I used a bunch of Acros when I was in SF, and I think I am ready to replace TMAX 100 with it.
