Agreed. Those are great colors, especially in the 3rd one.
Another from the Redwoods. I was chasing light rays too much. Did my best to reduce contrast but keep the light rays dominant and maintain texture in the trees.

This is absolutely fantastic, one of the best photos I've seen in here easily (There's TONS of fantastic photos in here though).
Patrick, your portraits are another thing that has really driven me to start shooting film again as well.
I've been going through this thread over the past few days as I've got a Nikon F4 on the was and a couple more MF Nikkor lenses. Excited to start shooting some film again.
Thank you very much. Interestingly enough this area has now been destroyed to make way for progress and all these people have been moved somewhere. This entire riverside is being upgraded and enhanced, so it will never be the same.

I promise my composition in all my XPan shots isn't the same like these two. haha.
I didn't notice when I saw the shots on flickr, but here together the composition is comically similar. You could cut your brother out ove the one shot and stick him over your flux capacitor.

Than you all for the great response to the scanner question. Yes I know that the drum scanner is the real way to go but there is just not enough business to get one we are down to maybe 20 rolls a week and most of that is one time use cameras. The college students who shoot film are shooting b/w and are working at the college so no more business there. As for our Noritsu scanner, I have always kept the noise reduction filters OFF, they make a mess of details and we would always rather have grain the no detail at all. I will play around a bit today as I am developing my roll from getting back into film. I will try and contact Marsha over at NCPS (thanks TWoK).
One other question that has now come up in the response to the scanning:
- Are you NOT PRINTING your photographs? As you can imagine as a photo lab we stress and strive on printing, photography is a printed media right? I know that the evil underside of digital photography is that so much gets shot and so little gets printed but FILM not being printed? What's the point? I think its such a shame to see $10,000 worth of Leica never truly be seen in print.
Sorry for that rant, but I do think its a shame not to print, the print is what will be here the longest.

Yeah I don't print enough. I really, really need to print. Aside from one book I've done and a print or two I've made I have thousands of images just sitting on my hard drive or spooled up in my closet. Was Marsha able to help you?
If you're looking for more business this isn't a bad place to get the word out. I certainly am open to sending film your way if you get the scanning figured out.

Really like #2.btw I use the CLE also. How do you like it? jd
Sorry I missed this earlier. I love it. The 28, 40, 90mm lenses keep me happy and they work well on the NEX. The size is great when coming from a dslr. I need to shoot with it more.
gambaphoto, if you do get the scanning figured out, please try to maintain your equipment better than the people who scanned my last roll. Granted, Costco's price of a whopping $2/roll is pretty compelling, but the two streaks down each photo I got back is not (left side, and a more subtle one in the middle):
