Having fun with new to me Speed Graphic. Found this Zeiss Ikon Ernostar 120mm f1.2 projector lens and somehow mounted it. Super hard to focus, and don't know what the white spots are from.

Lovely images, wow! Projector lenses are so much fun. Those white spots just look like dust (and there's a hair or eyelash on the top photo); common problem with negatives. Making sure they dry in a dust-free place (inside the shower is great, run a hot shower for a few minutes first to generate some steam that will take any dust out of the air, then turn off the water and hang your negatives overnight or at least 4 hours). And then when you scan them, use a rocket blower to remove dust just before you start to scan (and use the rocket blower on the scanning glass if you're using a flatbed). Never use canned air as it has liquid propellant that can damage the negatives.

Please tell me about Ultramax film. I've been thinking about getting some but you can't get 1 roll, you have to get 5 so if you don't like it. You're stuck! It's also expensive which is fine if it's nice film.
UT looks like beautiful film but it's always hard ro tell by the time it makes it from your camera to my cellphone! Also, is there anything I should know about it? Isn't there a version with a slower ASA? Any color film you like more?
Thanks. Bill geekcop wrote:
