Then, when one person tells him his work is not good. Oh Fuck. Look out. How DARE this person criticize the GREAT NATE. You people need to grow up. The world of photography is large. It's not just the amateurs here on FM. Get out and see some real photography. And don't worry about my pictures. I'm sure all of you know a good movie when you see it and, you're not all Steven Spielbergs. You know a good bottle of wine and you're not great vinters, etc.

Hey man chill out, have a drink or something. It's cool to criticise someone's photos but it's not cool to criticise the person, especially someone you dont know.

Have you seen REAL photographers work?
As I happen to be a REAL photographer, yes. As are the other people posting their photographs here.

Lucky you.

No, you were just being a dick, apparently a hobby of yours.
As for Nate, if you want to talk about REAL photographers, he has had his pictures published by National Geographic - something that most photographers would consider quite an accomplishment. One may or may not like Nate's pictures aesthetically but anyone with a bit of experience with photography will recognize the quality level of his work.
In your case it makes zero difference if you are a good photographer or not or what kind experience you have. Being a decent human being that can communicate with other human beings in a civilized manner is far more important.

Sorry to feed the troll but this made me laugh. WOW you've lived in THREE cities in the Eastern half USA! Well done, I can't imagine the depth and variety of experience you've had
A quick question guys - I'll be spending some time soon in the US Southwest, most of the time in a desert environment. Which B&W film would you recommend?
I first thought of just bringing my M6 loaded with Tri-X 400 along for personal documentary photography (essentially just as a P&S equivalent). However I'm starting to think that the desert environment might be the right place to do some proper B&W film work and I'm not sure the Tri-X 400 is the best choice.
It's pretty bright out there. Might want to bring some slower film along for the day. Whatever floats your boat - most of it is good. T-Max 100, Delta 100, FP4+, Acros. I might steer away from PanF+ just because it doesn't have quite the range that the others do - unless of course you are comfortable with it, then by all means.
Take Tri-X or another 400 speed for the non-tripod evening stuff.
Then again, the last time I was in the Southwest for work, I shot a couple rolls of expired P3200TMZ at 800, some HIE infrared film, some Ektar, and some Fuji Tungsten 64. So do as I say, and not as I do

+1 for Acros 100. I shot an entire project with it that was optically printed. The quality was amazing (the printer was a true artist).
I am loving some Ektar! Fairly new to film and am having fun with it. Been mostly shooting color negative with fuju reala and some portra 160nc but just finished a roll with ektar and am blown away by the colors. Just perfect. Vibrant, saturated and the grain is very fine.
Just a few from around the house trying to shoot at least a shot a day with my Minolta Hi-Matic 9. Fun little camera I found for 1.99 at Goodwill last year. Really liking the Rokkor f1.7 45mm lens. Thoroughly enjoying this thread and am slowly making my way through all the posts. Some really great stuff posted.

Hi Jon! Thanks for posting some Ektar shots .... some of us have had issues with that film in the past (I"m one of them) so it's nice to see people pleased with it! Looking forward to more of your shots - with that fun little camera! I'm so addicted to my little Minolta right now!

Seriously? I mean seriously? You're talking to people that live all over the world in this thread and you're bragging about living in 3 US cities? Get over yourself.

You clearly no nothing about me. I've met many of the people who frequent this thread in real life, carried on conversations with them and contributed and enjoyed this thread for years. I doubt anyone would say I have a big ego. You went beyond criticizing and were just a down right dick for no good reason. You don't share your work here, from what I've seen you have no room to talk to any of us from a point of expertise.

Were you not held when you were a child? Did your daddy beat you? Maybe your uncle molested you or something. Maybe you should read Bad Childhood---Good Life. Seriously though, no need to come back in this thread, especially without something to contribute.
