The worst is accidentally underexposing. Portra 400 has excellent exposure latitude so a couple of stops over will not hurt it. Especially if you are going to scan the film and you can do so much in post.
If it’s cloudy, I just set it to cloudy and shoot my multis. Same for if it is sunny. But if you think about it from a process pov, a double exposure will result in twice the amount of light to hit the film which is essentially a stop over. Color neg film handles that no problems.
