I finally got around to trying out the latest Kodak Retina. It's a Type 015 1a and was serviced by Paul Barden in Corvallis, Oregon. I paired it with the updated Reveni Cube meter MK2 and learned a few things on my first walk out with it. I thought a wrist strap would be a good idea. It may be but not if you have a walking stick in your other hand. Same with the meter. Trying to juggle the camera, the meter and the walking stick was enough exercise in itself. The meter is now in the camera's accessory shoe and the camera has a couple of Peak Design anchors so I can attach a strap. I liked the rangefinder in the IIa but with my poor eyesight it was not always easy to use. The 1a is scale focus and has two reference marks for zone focus at f8. One covers 7 to 15 feet and the other 15 feet to infinity. First time out, it worked well. Here are some examples. Kodak Retina 1a, 50 3.5 Schneider, yellow filter, Tri-X @ ISO 200, Adox XT-3 1:1:

It did give me some trouble trying to rewind the film and I lost a few frames when I opened the back to check it.
Here are a few more from the Retina 1a. Occasionally, I'll look at a more modern P&S that actually doesn't require me to adjust every setting but I like the challenge. This is a big step up from the Type 013 that the shutter had to be cocked manually.

I don't know what software you're using so I can't comment on how negative conversions might work on other platforms, but with Darktable the conversion process is quite simple -- you just select the Negadoctor tool and click on the emulsion in the space between images. The conversion process is done automatically by sampling the characteristics of the emulsion and it is over with a single click. Then you've got a positive that can be modified like any other positive. There are youtube guides.
What is it about shoes on powerlines? I took a very similar photo back in April when we were in New Orleans, and I've seen shoes on powerlines in France a couple of times.
