Having recently started working my way through 100' of HP5+ in Xtol, I was also surprised to find my images were slightly overdeveloped. I checked Ilford's developing/agitation recommendations and it turns out I was shaking the dang thing too much:
"With spiral tanks, invert the tank 4 times during the first 10 seconds, then invert a further 4 times during the first
10 seconds for each further minute."
Maybe that will help.
I was using the Adox recommendation of fifteen seconds to start then ten seconds every thirty. Thanks for the hint. Great pictures with the 50 APO!

Back in December I moved apartments. In an effort to get some furniture-buying-funds I consigned my Voigtlander 50mm Apo-Lanthar at a local camera shop (hoping that it would sell quickly during the holidays).
It did not sell.
Picked it back up this morning. Maybe I'll give the lens another shot. I really like the ergonomics of it (it has a floating element and yet the weight of the focus ring is much lighter and smoother than other Voigt lenses).
Who needs furniture? You could always sit on the lens.
This reviewer wrote that the Leica 50 Lux Asph is too sharp for film. I of course ridiculed that statement, now backed by your wonderful film images using the CV Apo which is even sharper than the Lux!
Goes to show just because a person has a fancy website, does not mean they know what they are talking about.

Anson is a good guy. I think he generally prefers more characterful lenses.
Being too sharp for film doesn't make a ton of sense to me.
Too sharp for digital and human faces is logical (see: the recent resurgence in diffusion filters).
I originally wanted to sell the Apo-Lanthar because I thought its rendering was a little boring...but then I realized - only a faulty camera guy blames his lenses. I'm the boring one in that equation.
At any rate, I realized I'd prefer having it to play with than sit in a camera shop, so I'll give it another go.
Sweet shot. I just used my 645 for a project because I wanted the significant increase in quality over 35mm. But dang my H1 is so much bigger than an M, or F3. It makes it really conspicuous for day to day shooting.
First shots with my first 6x6 camera, a generous forum gift from @geekcop (thanks again!). A fun little camera to shoot with, and I'm really liking the results.

Those look great! I'm happy it works so well for you. Looks like the new rangefinder is also spot on too.
Went to DC end of March.
The best shoot was not cherry blooms , not White House, not Capital Hills etc.......it was a protest.
This is the 2nd time I been protest but this time I decided to walk into the crowd and shoot with film.
