Thanks! I enjoy all of the negative reviews that the lens has received over its existence. To me, it was always proof that Cosina loves you and wants you to take pictures. The mere fact that you can pick up a used copy for $400-ish (or less) and the Leica SR can command such high prices (and yes, their draw is not identical, I know) is further evidence that Leica doesn't care about you and wants you to eat mud.
The fact that the new limited edition black Steel Rim is cheaper made than the regular silver one - aluminum vs brass - but Leica is asking $11k for it says it all.

(this is slightly different from image posted previously...stopped down to f/2.8 here...it's SHARP...and background draw has calmed down.

Yeah the Samsung AF Slim Zoom is the P&S to get. It's lens will be better than any long zoom like the Espio 120 (or my Espio 24EW) because it is only 35-70 which is much easier to make as high quality at that size than a long lens.
And doesn't it just feel right in hand? Not too big, not too small and fiddly.
I may still have BW400CN in my freezer.
Yes these cameras were just the right size. The buttons are nice too. The whole camera is just not pretentious if that makes sense. They aren't as slippery as the Pentax too. I like both the Samsungs and the Pentax though just in different ways.
The BW400CN surprised me. I really liked how it rendered.

Yeah, my Espio is like holding a bar of soap! Super slippery! Nice cameras but the Samsung has it all dialed in. it's biggest drawback is the unsexy name - if it was called a Rollei (which it also is rebadged as) it would be much more expensive. Marketing..
My awesome Rollei QZ35W is made by Samsung. At least with that camera it was only built as a Rollei for Rollei.
I don't shoot much slide film anymore, but I recently picked up a lightsource for scanning that will allow me to adjust color temp (make warmer)...which should help with Ektachrome E100. Here's a few from before...might try to dig them out and rescan...quite blue.

I got those kanji characters tattooed on my shoulder a few years ago in Venice Beach. The artist told me it meant love and fortune. Frack.
Kavalan is in Taiwan, so those are Chinese characters, not kanji. It means, "Getting drunk station #1."
Just kidding, I think the literal translation is whisky distillation factory #1.

Nice! If the kit lens is the super plastic 28-80 - that's a great lens!
It is. I'm anxious to see the camera lens combo using fresh film as opposed to expired film to see if it looks sharper. This shot was good but others looked a little rougher.

Don't forget about camera shake as these cameras do not have IS
