i work on things as long as possible then i do stuff that's legal in alaska and cali then i go back to work for as long as i can.
i'm usually finished with a wedding with around 800 finalized images in about 15 hours.
now if i can get my studio guys to be so productive...

Water. drink TONS of water. Forces you to get up to refill the glass and to ... um... get rid of the water you're consuming. Picked that trick up 17 years ago during a summer job. Helps with the sitting too long

I surf waaaaay too much when I am supposed to be working. I also should disconnect my LAN.
One thing I have found is to have a flickr slideshow going on another monitor. I just do a search and then click groups, then pick a group, click show more pictures and then in the upper right hand corner is a slideshow button. With the right topics there can be thousands of photos in a group. And since I'm a snob, I make judment on a photo in a small fraction of a second so a quick glance at the slideshow and I'm back at work on my other monitors. this way I satisfy my brain's need to be distracted, I see cool images, and get new ideas for future shooting.

setup the other monitor, plop on a dvd of a tv series i've been meaning to watch and have at it. It's a tad distracting at times, and I may 'halt' post processing at times, but it beats starring at the images for hours on end.

That is a great idea! Although I'd be so distracted with whatever's going on that I'd stop editing altogether

Just finished watching the first season of Heroes for the 2nd time. Also did it in three days
Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Weeds, all 7 seasons of the West Wing, and on to the third season of Battlestar Galactica. I would lose my mind without Netflix.
p.2 #13 · What do you do while editing images/album?
I do Batch editing.. so I pick a bath of images and set them up for the batching, then I wander off and do other things, work in the garden, clean something, take a little nap. When I come back my images are ready to be put online. So I make the albums, make the pages, then set em all up for uploading and wander off and let it all upload.
I usually have a chat or IM up, watching TV.. drink a few sodas. If my kids are home I sit outside watching them play.
