p.1 #1 · playing with a Tokina 400 f/5.6 AT-X Pro on a D300
I just borrowed this lens from my father who hasn't used it in years. I didn't have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised! They were hand held at various ISOs, while leaning waaay out of my apartment window in New Jersey. The three tall buildings are all on Wall Street, with the Trump Building (copper roof) being just over 2 miles away. The building under construction in the foreground is a high rise condo on my side of the river
The moon image is probably a 40% crop and I did a lot of sharpening. It still leaves a *lot* to be desired, but the major features are clearly visible. (No cropping on the architectural shots.)
For a lens that seems to run about $200 used, it's not too shabby. Problem is now I want a Nikon 300 f/4 + 1.4TC!

Here are a couple more from a surprise fireworks display tonight... while leaning out of the same window. Hand held (obviously) at f/11, iso1600, no de-noising or sharpening. This lens is a lot of fun!
