Maybe.... but my point is, length of exposure has nothing/little to do with the 'star effect'. That is done with the size of the aperture, IOW, the smaller the aperture, the more light reflected on the edges of the diaphragm leaves.
Here's a brightly lit scene, deliberately stopped down to create the star effect, obviously a much shorter exposure
