Yeah Anthony I saw that too! I think it was in China and Vietnam that they use this technique! although the part were they force the fish back out of its throat it's kinda disgusting
I DON'T want my sushi out of that
They're pretty amazing swimmers...the deepest recorded dive is about 120-130 ft! Although these guys that I captured didn't have a very productive day anthony whitmo wrote:
Cormorants are such a kewl looking bird. I love their eyes and their displays. I watched a television program that showed how in the oriental countries they have cormorants trained to fish for them. They tie a small rope around the Cormorants neck, the cormorant dives off the boat into the water, returns and jumps back in the boat with a fish in it's mouth. The fishermen grab the cormorant gently around the head and the cormorant spits the fish out. The rope around the cormorants neck is to prevent it from swallowing the catch..
it was pretty kewl to watch......
Looks like you had fun on your trip and look forward to more

It was Laura. I wasn't expecting such a variety of birds. The only problem is that it was so good now all I can think of is when I can go back

Sounds like a dream trip Nello. Now I know why cormorants often spread out their wet wings to dry in the sun, they probably can't fly when soggy! Nice work on this series.
Yeah that look in its eyes really gets you thank you for the comment Susan! suemcc wrote:
