Many perfect curves were made by the hand of the master violin maker Stradivarius. His F holes are particularly characteristc and beautiful. Here is a closeup of my 1728 Stradivarius violin.
As always, Bev, your kind words are most appreciated! So glad you like this!
Fond regards,
Endre

Beautiful and so elegant. Love the composition and lighting. What an amazingly beautiful instrument. I'd photograph it a lot, too. :-) Great entry.
It is my hope that one day I will see this instrument in the flesh being played by its current protector, whilst I am waiting I will have to make do with looking at the images and listening to the Tchaikovsky: Elgaic Trio!

Very curvaceous Endre. However, the background doesn't work for me personally. My own choices would be black, dark green or perhaps maroon - more befitting of the venerable instrument I think than a somewhat bland white.
Thanks, Bill. i appreciate your kind comments. As it happens, this was the shot I used for my WA entry and I did it with a whit background so I could cut out the Strad for that. Only later, when I noticed the MA topic, did I think I might use this one as an entry over here. I'd prefer a dark color as well but it was too tale and I probably won't have time to reshoot it. We'll see what happens.
All the best,
Endre

Thanks, so much, Adam! It seems there are an endless number of ways of shooting it Glad you like it! I wish I could find a way to attach some music along with the shot.
All the best,

As always I love seeing different views of your Strad, well shot as always. Could do with hearing it more often.

Couldn't have seen this one coming I mean a shot of one of the best examples of curved instruments by a master photographer who actually owns one of these instrument. You should put together a photo album/book of all the different images you've taken/created of this wonderful Strad.
