This is an all-too-common scene in my second home, the Powell Library at UCLA. Many students come in to catch a little shut-eye in-between their classes by lying on these very comfortable mattresses provided by the school. I swear, this has saved my butt a couple of times too when I pull all-nighters and barely got any sleep the night before, and have to go to 8:00AM classes. After attending my 8:00AM classes I just go like this guy and crash. Its pretty gross though, because I wake up drooling lots of times, getting the mattress wet or whatnot. I just wipe it with my sleeve and slap myself a couple of times then go to class.
Sleep deprivation is an ugly thing. Everyone get your 8 hours of sleep tonight!
I'm a junior at UW-Madison and I hear you. I can't stop going through my pictures and Flickring instead of doing homework. I've got a four page paper due tomorrow and a five page due Thursday that I have yet to start on. Pretty much all my academic college life has been pulled out of my ass the night before or day of.
I haven't really learned anything except that I need to do what I love. Skipping class in favor of a day of shooting when it's beautiful outside is something I try to do as often as possible. Being stuck in a boring class isn't fun. Being myself and doing what I love is, however.
Thanks for the feedback George, I will straighten the columns if I decide to post this somewhere elsewhere.
CWBaker, good luck on your paper! I love that little insight you put in as a fellow student. I feel totally the same way. I love my school and going to class and all, but photography far supercedes all of that. I think college really is about learning about who you are and what you love to do.

Hell yeah. Man, I pulled 2 all-nighters this semester which is silly. Not worth it at all. I did manage to write 4400 words in 6 hours during one of those though, :P
Great shot. I find trouble getting out and shooting on campus; things bore me. I also need a UWA.
