Thought I'd share an easy sales idea I came across at WPPI this year. Saw this at the Collages booth, (website: www.collages.net). They presented them as guestbooks for the wedding. After thinking about the hideous guestbook at my own wedding, (frilly, lace thing that I've never look at again), thought this would be a sure sales point. Great for those that want something other then a sign in frame as well.
So the album is top quality and has lots of color selections, (pink has been the preferred color).
On the left you have your image, (single image or collage designed by you. On the right is the signing area, (parchment paper). The pages are thick, like youd find in a Leathercraftmen, Zook, Graphi album. This is an example of their most upgradeable 10 page album, $190 studio sample. This would have cost about $330 otherwise. Batting 3 for 3 on my last few consultations for folks picking up their e~session pics. I'm upping x2 for single shoots. x3 if they want me to design with multiple images per page.
Guy at the collages booth also mention being able to make these as senior albums. On top of having the seniors friends sign their yearbook, they sign their portraits book as well. What better marketing pull is their then showboating to envious teenagers. cool idea.
Sorry about the crap lighting etc, didn't feel like pulling out the lightbox. And no I don't work, am affiliated, contracted by collages. Just stoked about this product and wanted to share.
Those look fabulous, but sound pricey. My local lab did a 20 page, 6x8" (nothing too fancy) for about $100. That was my cost. Zook's "photo book" looks about half the price. Need to call them.
I had a great response with my Engagement-book. All of the guests just had to tell me how much they loved it, and would be sending referrals my way. Great exposure at the event, and then passing out little cards with details on how to view the photos just increased the exposure.
Sam is that a plate of cookies in number 3...Nice> Love the lay outs and the look of this book. I have been getting inidated with emails from collages and ignoring them, after seeing your book I am going to order one as a sample baby album, thanks for showing. Cleve.

Wow, didn't even know Zook offered them, 1/2 price?...hummmmm. I have to check. Thanks my friend.

HA! My wife bakes "something" every time I have a consultation. If you can't sell your images bribe them with goodies. Thanks for the nice words Cleve.
When you compare pricing on this to other options, keep in mind how this book is different - one side of each two-page spread is parchment paper. I don't know of any other product like that. Very interesting.

I did not know what, interesting indeed. No one had a problem signing regular photograph paper on the latest guest book I had. Standard ball-point pen.
Zooks are laminated I think, posing a small problem.

Yes. I will also note that this guest book is their best seller of ANY of their products. Their wedding albums are, ok. Kinda lack luster and void of options. This however is their bread and butter.
This is the only guest book I've seen that was printed on think 1/8 pages so that the guests signatures don't emboss through to the other pages. Also comes with it's own signing pen
