Not a big fan of 3,11 in terms of color. Did you use some sort of "enhance blacks" plugin or maybe too much "burn"? I can see some un-needed darks on the face, arms, etc
you have some great shots here. awesome series... very very strong.
the only thing to watch out for is the body being completely squared to the camera on some images. for me, i "try" to have my brides angle their bodies from me to get a "skinnier" angle. 3/4 view of body but can still have the face looking straight on.
again, very strong series... 2008 is going to be a great year for you. =)

You know I almost pee myself when you comment to me... right?
I totally get what you're saying about the angle. I do try to watch for that. With this girl, I really liked that her hips were wider from the straight on view... more of an old school hourglass shape, I guess. I liked highlighting it because it seemed really feminine. Of course, in case SHE doesn't care for that, I need to have more angles like you're saying so that SHE has images SHE likes, too.

like 3 and 22... wonder if there's a way you could lighten her eyes a bit in 3 though. how did you light 6?
Jeff actually suggested I take a set of eyes from another in-studio shot of hers and see if I can get them to look brighter that way. I may work on that tomorrow... cause otherwise, I do like the image!
We used our 580 ex2 off camera with a soft box... though I think number 6 in particular didn't have the box on the flash.
Thanks for "stretching" yourself, professionally and by posting, for all of us, Mel. There's always going to be personal preference differences and mistakes made, but at your level, it's the "gap" between fantastic and superb - in other words, not much of a gap!
Love your stuff. 9, 12, 22 are my favorites. We are starting to work with a flash set up like this using something like Ed's light stick. Waiting to get my hands on the radiopoppers. Thanks for sharing! Great work
Great photos! The lighting is interesting. I still can't get over the bridal portraits of the old south. It must be kind of fun getting to know the girls a bit better before the wedding.
Quick comment and question: Why is it that so many skinny girls actually have a "double chin" of extra skin when they smile really big? I notice that a few of these photos have that extra skin there. I have photographed two really skinny girls and I had the same problem -- only much, much worse. Do you take that out in photoshop or leave it in?
