Cool. Now I wonder if they actually different firmware when you send your camera in or if there is a way to activate the service center diagnostics in the regular firmware.

As far as I know with the correct software it can be activated in any firmware. With the software you´ll be able to calibrate AF, AE and other stuff.

I do not have this program. The reason why this menu is activated is that the CPS forgot to disable "diagnostic mode" in the program.

I like the little hammer and wrench. That's what Canon uses to clean the sensor.

Indeed it is. The reason why I figured something was wrong was the extreme backfocusing the camera had and still have.

There´s no keycombination to access this menu. This has to be enabled via a PC and service program

The submenu is basicly a number of selfchecking programs - Such as button status, AF status and so on and so forth
