My guess would be that the software could (should? does??) generate a dust map after *every* shot and apply it to the preceding image immediately (before it is exported to the CF card) so that no matter how many lens changes you have, the dust has been "optimally removed."
No it does not. And therein lies the problem: you get ONE dust map until you sync it to the computer. I have had dust move from frame to frame, forget about days.
That, and the fact that then I'd have to use DPP. Double yikes. No, not very useful.
