Thanks Leo, yeah ours usually start about mid-March but this year was warm in Febuary. I actually started filming them in mid-Feb which is unusually early. BTW All these shots where with a Nikon D300 and a 200-400 F4 VR lens, No extenders necessary these Grouse are very human tolerant. I usually sit outside my truck on the ground and they wander right by, sometimes within a foot or so.
Yes James I remeber your post from last year and you commenting on how tolerant they are. Ours seem to be spooked easily. One little noise or movement and off they go. Wished they were as "tame" as yours.
I'm hoping ours are late because it has been so cold and snowy. Now I'm really interested to see how they are progressing.
Great shots. Would be nice if you numbered them for easier commenting. Some of these really have some great detail. Look a bit over exposed and you could take the exposure/brightness down quite a bit and these could really POP from the BG's.
