p.1 #1 · Bar Mitsvah?

I might have a bar mitsvah coming up.
If you have a second and you posted a shot or two from a bar mitsvah, I would be really glad about that.

thanks

temple may require you to carry liability insurance to shoot the formals there, but you have to shoot the formals there. Typically a few days befroe the reception.

A few days before the reception, you do formals in the synagogue on the alter - mom, dad, family - putting on the talis, pretending to read from a torah (its a mock torah, can't use the real one). Bring the grandparents if desired. Some dad shaking hands, mom kissing, sister looking on, etc.

You cannot under any circumstances take images during the actual ceremony on Saturday morning. No way jose. Dont even go.

At the reception, it's like a sweet 16, but there usually are more boys and they typically throw things at the photographer. The DJ is in control - lots of stupid games.

There are two unique things though at the reception. The grandpa says a blessing over the bread - you have to get that. And there is a candle lighting ceremony where the kid invites people up to light candels - they will stop and pose for you.

remember, two seperate days - formals during the week at the temple, 1 hour, then the 4 hour party on Saturday or Sunday.

and dont hit on the 13 year old girls
