p.1 #1 · Bald Eagle

First time getting some decent shots of bald eagle with my meager 1D and 300mm f4L. I think I have a lot to learn. Please take a look and offer some critiques or hints of how I could get better shots of bald eagle.
Thanks.

You've done a fine job with a difficult subject. My only comment would be to lower the contrast and saturation a bit... it may reveal a bit more detail in the feathers...although the light coming through the tail feathers is really cool. Just tracking them is a BIG challange and you did really well. Congrats

Nice job. You'll find that overexposing 2/3 to a full stop will bring out even more details.

You can say that again on the tracking difficulty, a friend of mine just picked up a 300 2.8 IS, we were out the other day shooting some geese and swans and I thought as usual my keeper rate was going to be no problem, NOT...
Sure was fun though, nice shots by the way...
