Wonderful series Maggie. Great shot on the Tree Swallow - almost impossible to get in flight and you nailed it. I really like the Shovelers as well. Nice job!
beautiful set Maggie - that first swallow shot is fantastic - excellent detail in the head and wings and a nice blur on the tail. Love the commentary on the shovelers

All of them great shots but I particullary enjoyed the RTH! I can't even imagine myself trying a BIF like the 1st shot! I tried ny XT and 100mm F2 and kouldn't keep up on pigeons flying directly towards me
See, that's what's so cool about Canon's burst speed. All you gotta do is find an area where Swallows hang out, point your camera at nothing, and start firing away. Sooner or later a Swallow will fly into the frame. Really
Thanks, Nello

Welcome to FM, Maggie. It is always nice to see new members joining the N&W Forum, especially with such great pictures......... wait a minute! ..... Maggie.....?.... I think I remember that name......hummmmm...
How are you doing Maggie? You've been missed. I should be yelling at you, like you said, but I'll forgive you.
I see you didn't loose your touch. These shots are really really good. I wouldn't even try to get a shot like the first one. # 5 (a wall hanger), and 7 are over the top, and the hawk shot is unique. Well done!
Stick around,
Socrate
Why thank you for the warm welcome, Socrate. I'm doing well and hope you are, also. Thank you for your kind words and a special thank you for not yelling at me.

Good to se you back Maggie as I wondered what happened to you. But I have been a bit absent my sely lately getting involved with the Mass. Audubon.
These look great and nice detail and color so I guess you still got it.
Lou
Hi Lou - it's great to hear you're getting involved with Audubon. They are lucky to have you. Thank you

maggie Love the first two Northern Shovelers >> Every time I come across these guys their little heads are down in the water and I rarely get a descent shot with their heads up. The female on the log is fantastic... Speed demon is great too
Anthony Whitmo
Hi Anthony It's amazing how much time Shovelers spend trollling for food, with their heads down while those huge bills of theirs skim the water. Focused! Thanks much
