We finally had a bit of better light here today--to be followed tonight by a snowstorm of all things. Had fun with all these guys.
I love the Brants.
1. Black Brant
Bonnie, you got some Brants! Good for you. You did a wonderful job on them. They always seem to be swimming in pairs and I never get enough dof to get two of them in focus. Love the harlequin, I don't see many of those. Wonderful series.
Very nice set, Bonnie. I actually like the second shot with the second Brant OOF. It gives a sense of depth, rather than being "flat". But that is just my opinion. I also like #5, both of them.

Great series. Last one is super. I also like the flight shot.
Thanks, Harsha! I am fond of the last one as well. Appreciate your comment. Tim Kuhn wrote:

Thanks, Tim! Yrah! Yes, I finally found some Brants that would let me get close. They really do stick close together.

Thanks, Gene for taking time to comment! Aren't the Brants cool! I love their look. Chris Willis wrote:
Really nice, Bonnie. I love the brandts and the harlequin, really excellent.
Chris
Thanks, Chris. I really like the performance of the lens with the 2X in some decent light. Nello Milanese wrote:
Nice shots Bonnie! I like the low-angle on the plover and the IF shots!
Nello, this is one of the few times for me that I have been able to get close and low to a number of birds. Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Socrate. That is interesting about #2--I would have liked to have gotten the second duck in focus a bit better--but it didn't happen.

Great shots of the Brants, Bonnie. Exceptional shot of the Harlequin.
these are some of your best ever Bonnie! Gorgeous collection! Hey whatsup with your weather? My brother-in-law said it was snowing this afternoon in WA!
I always look forward to your 'Island' outings, I get to see what you saw! Nice chocolatey colors in the Brants, #3 you were thinking stopping down more and I was thinking stopping down less, rather looks nice with the forward bird sharp against the other in formation. Harlequin is gorgeous! My favorite is the Black-bellied Plover, great low angle, just a perfect setting.
