Hi everybody, I've been building a new website it's partially complete with a few galleries working. Please check it out and let me know what you think
Thanks Dave, Some of these images are HDR processed with CS3. The Alcatraz shots were all processed with heavy tonal mapping intentionally for the effect. Most of the NYC and San Fran shots have a variety of subtle photoshop processing. I like to play, but I also like to have good base images to start with.
How did the layout of the Website work for you? Was it slow to load? I'm just using the visual Coffee Cup Software for this. It has a flash photogallery module. Not very flexible but I was able to get what I want. I'm sure if a similar looking site was created by an experienced programmer it would be more efficient.
Very nice. My one observation, based on usability, is that I felt, initially, out of control as the images moved without my say-so. I wonder whether the option to automatically scroll a slideshow could be selectable, as opposed to default. I like to absorb the landing page before dynamic activity begins.
yes, I can do this, but then the slides will not autoload to get them into the cash if I turn off auto play. I guess Coffee cup used to load all the slide images on the page even with the slide show turned off, but users were complaining of how long it took. So now if you turn off auto play they load individually as you select them which is also a little slow.
I was doing some web searches on auto loaders that I could maybe use, but I'm not sure if it would work because the slide show itself is Flash. I think that I may be locked into coffee cup's functionality unless I break from their visual software alltogether and learn how to program. I have their HTML editor but I have only been playing with their new visual drag and drop editor where most of the code is generated for you behind the scenes.
Thanks Skip,
Those pages don't exist yet. I' still building this and decided to get more image galleries up and working then move on to the other stuff.
I just added more to NYC and Pets.
Two things...not wild about the vertical text on the left about rights...a little too busy and not necessary.
The photo top left, it would be better on the bio page (assuming that is you). If is not necessary there and I find it both distracting and out of place with the rest of the home page.

I don't care for the use of flash, but it is your choice.
