Shot two scrimmages yesterday and today just to work on my timing and take the new 300 2.8 out for a spin. Gotta say it is smooth. A bit of a learning curve, but I'll manage. From using the 70-200 2.8 for the last few years, I've gotten used to the zoom and I find myself trying to work the zoom on the 300. I find that positioning is another factor. Where I used to be last year....now I'm at least double the distance....especially on the baselines.
Anyway here's some from today....it was definately one of those days with sun/clouds constantly changing.
Danny - I used the monopod for the batter shots and I experimented a bit hand holding for the pitcher and field shots. The jury is still out but I'm sure the monopod will win out just on the weight factor alone. The config of this field allowed me to sit in the front row of the bleacher b/c it was 4 feet from the chalked out field of play (and about 15 feet from the baseline) so I was able cheat a little and rest it in my lap.
