Can anyone recommend a good camera store in Oahu or Maui? I'll be there in two weeks on holiday and have googled up Ritz Camera and Lighthaus Camera in Maui that seem to stock the ef 85 1.2 II that I'm after I would prefer to buy the lens in the US rather than shipping from B&H etc due to taxes / freight...
Any suggestions from the locals will be greatly appreciated
I can't really recommend a store, but I do live on Maui and have had horrible service at lighthaus. plus, their prices are WAY higher than B&H. Just one persons perspective.
Supposedly, there is a new store in Lahaina but I haven't been to it yet.
I wouldn't expect that Ritz would carry any specialty gear.
Kaimuki Camera has the best selection and most knowledgeable sales staff. Prices aren't bad but don't expect to beat TriState Camera. Other than that, you're stuck with Ritz. Used to be a lot more photo stores but the internet and Ritz better much finished them. Near the end many survived off film processing and digital was the final nail in the coffin.
For Maui, I'd suggest Lighthaus.... two locations. One by the airport and one in Lahaina. I was able to find a few lenses/equipment in stock there on vacation. Prices seemed on parity... there didn't seem to be any other pro options in the area.
