SPECTACULAR ! clearly, there's no waiting for marination in the serengeti....

Amazing pictures,.... send me some info if possible for usa--->serengeti safari booking.

seemslike u got some eye level shots..how did u make that possible ? Are u in the jeep ? Also, did u use a monopod or are these handheld? Thx for sharing !!

Incredible shots Harsha! I love the look in #2, the action in #4 and #5 and the behavioral sequences in 6 through 11 are fantastic captures. Well done!

Incredible sequence of photos. I really like the action shots but I love the clarity and detail in image 2. Excellent focus on all shots. I didn't look at the exif but assume these were with your D3. I have witnessed a couple of kills but both were in high grass which almost hid the Cheetah making the kill and as you know it happens really fast. You were fortunate that you had a good clear view. Ndutu is my favorite of all the places I have been in Tanzania and I will be returning there in June.

As to the mid-day hunting, one of our guides told us that many of the cheetah in and near the Serengeti have begun hunting mid-day - presumably because all the safari vehicles have gone back to camp for lunch and so are no longer in the way.

Great series. No. 2 is a stunning portrait. Thanks for posting. I was in Ndutu in Feb 2007 and also saw a female with two cubs about the same age as the ones you shot. One of the cubs is my avatar.
