I haven't had the chance to post in a few weeks due to work and being sick, but thought this was fitting for the assignment. C&C welcome. It is good to be back. Good luck to all this week.

Wonderful entry. Love the DoF. I like the curve to the left approaching the vanishing point.
Rosenthal captured one of the most memorable photos ever!
Thanks for the comments. Rosenthals' photograph of the Iwo Jima was well known to me prior to joining the Marine Corps but is now a symbol that helps keep me focused in my day to day work of being a Combat Photographer. Thanks again for the comments.
Thanks for the comments. The WA seems to stump me every week with trying to be creative and different, but I think this worked well. Good luck this week and thanks again.
I do like this shot, but the perspective is missing. Could you include a little background above the sidewalk? It might bring the context into sharper focus. Without the explanation I personally wouldn't see the sidewalk, only a memorial.
Anyhow, this is a good photo with a poignant concept.

Chad,
Thanks for the comment. I don't think I am going to get out to a re-shoot, but was going to take your comment a step further and get a Marine to stand in the area with dress blues, etc...As you said, it may bring out more of the "Sidewalk". Thanks for the comments and good luck.
Yep... 2nd ANGLICO. My MOS was 2531. I am 3rd generation U.S.M.C. My Brother and I enlisted in the Corps and went to P.I. My Dad went to P.I. (1st BN) my brother was in 2nd BN and I went to 3rd BN.
I was born again hard August 12, 1983.
My Grandfather was in WW1 USMC... He was in his mid 40's when my Dad was born.
Had a very similar idea and even when down to the memorial but decided to go in another direction. Nice perspective and wonderful tones in your shot. I also appreciate your choice of which stone to focus on. Good luck this week.
