Whenever you can get a smile from someone viewing your photo it's a success. I love the framing and the candidness of this shot. Well done.
A great(and funny) capture,
Chad
'glad you appreciated the humor here Chad. I found it pretty interesting to set a camera on a tripod at the top end of Main St......lots of looks etc
I was shooting at 200mm, so maintained a good distance between myself and the subjects (all strangers to me)
here's another one with the sidewalk theme I call 'anticipation'
Wonderful candid shot, Peter, my friend! The perspective down the sidewalk is tremendous and the whole shot fits the WA perfectly. There doesn't appear to be any remnant of dog poop on the street so it must be gum. What I find fascinating is that there are piles of snow on the street yet almost everyone is dressed as if for summer. Were there to be that much snow here in Los Angeles, everyone would be dressed in fur coats, scarves, and earmuffs. You guys back East are far tougher than we are out here in Sunny California.

Thanks Endre.......I think it was about 45 degrees out when i took this shot.......a relatively balmy 'melt some of the white stuff' sort of day. I don't think I've seen my lawn for several months now.
You may notice the difference in dress related to age...........(draw your own conclusions)
as far as the perspective goes, there's nothing like a telephoto view of compressed distance for a scene like this.
Thanks...Peter

Great shot. I love when photography captures the small things of daily life and who can't relate to the agitation one feels in this situation. Very nicely done. Good luck this week.
Hi Peter, I thought he was staring at his leg thinking, "I swear I put pants on today. This explains a lot. No more Guinness for me." Great composition, good luck this week!
Very nice shot, I think whoever he is talking to that they will know him by standing on one foot, and if it is poop its probable the guy looking at him who put it there. Good luck this week, I haven't laughed all day till now. thanks for sharing
The compressed perspective of your long lens is really helping the ‘main’ character get his message across from the crowded sidewalk.
Very good capture Peter!
I also go for gum...
Hello Peter,
What a funny, candid shot, it really made me chuckle. I'm hoping it's gum. This young man, while oblivious to winter weather, in T-shirt and shorts, definitely senses something is wrong with his shoe. Maybe he got a call from a friend saying, "hey dude, look at the bottom of your shoe". He's a natural at multitasking Your shot showing pedestrian traffic has a natural, light hearted feel to it. The depth of focus is great. A great WA entry.

Interesting to see snow and people in shorts. They must have a high tolerance to the cold or when the sun comes out its like spring to them. Interesting.
