I like the fact that you were able to find different settings on the rpm etc. I don't know how you did it but its impressive. Multiple exposures on start up I guess but 8000 rpms sounds dangerous. Recombined in HDR.
This lights on engine etc are a bit overexposed - you might try a faster shutter.
If you could figure out a way to reduce the exposure on some of the lights it would be better but best of the 3 for me.
Thanks for the comments Scott. The method for taking the photo was actually quite simple, just requires knowing a few tricks about the car. Years ago I made a tripod ball head mount that clamps to the head rest posts on my front seats, in order to hold a small APS camera I used to record videos of autocross and track days. I took the same setup and mounted my 40D to the tripod, and took a 5 second exposure. By hitting the right buttons upon start up, I can initiate what can be best described as a functional sweep test of the gauges (since they are all digital anyhow). So nothing too complex, just a single shot. I may try and mess with layers to reduce the brightness on the engine lights.
