Wonderful image, great metaphor, very powerful. Sorry about the loss; alas, I know that ache well, too. (Now happily remarried to a gem, so don't give up on love!) Great advice: if someone doesn't love you for who you are, help them pack! Good luck. Art is great therapy, just be careful and know when to move on and celebrate all the possibilities in store for you! Dr. Bev has spoken.
Ya know Bev, I can control my lighting, I can control the exposure, I can even sometimes control how one may react to a shot, but not being able to control my heart is the battle I lose with my mind every time. The heart flies blind and I let it. I also know I will do it again. Let's just hope it doesn’t get hit by a bus! . Thank you kindly Bev, at least it all makes for some hopefully interesting art if nothing else

Mike,
I love how your images go deeper than the surface of what meets the eye. I think the strength of any image is its emotional appeal.
Okay, here's a bonus quote for you:
"The man who said, 'A picture is worth a thousand words' was a cheapskate."

Thanks so much Carrol, I feel that every flower has been shot and better than I could ever do. I obviously don't shot for visual appeal but if it makes a difference to just one, then it was worth it. This is not to say I don't love a good flower shot
btw: That is now my most favorite quote! Thanks for sharing that.
