Is there a CS3 application that can create slideshows that can then be burned to DVD and played on widescreen TV?
Can Photoshop CS3 (or Extended Version) do this?
What about Flash CS3 Professional?
Reason I ask is that if one of the CS3 applications can do this then I want to make sure I purchase the right bundle of software - ie... the difference in purchasing say CS3 Design Premium or CS3 Design Standard for instance!
On the Russell Brown Show Quicktime tutorials (available from iTunes or the Adobe Website) there is a demo of the slide show process available in CS3 Extended. I watched the demo but could not tell if you could make a DVD version or whether it could be made stand-alone. Check out the demo labeled "Slideshow" under the Russell Brown category. Hope this gets you started in the right direction.
Bridge and Photoshop CS3 can produce web output and PDF presentations (slide show mode), but neither of these will be a good start for what you want to do. Here is a product designed to do what you want to do:
what do you want the software to do, just show a sequence of images, or do you want to pan/zoom? audio? av sync? multiple images at once? video clips too?
If your answer is all, you might consider final cut.
Have you considered designing in Keynote? You started out with CS3 in mind, but would you accept other options? Keynote might do what you want and is a Mac product.
