I have a 2405 Dell and I just noticed the strangest thing for the first time today.
There seem to be certain areas where the text is slightly blurry while in other areas it's very sharp. It's about 4" from the left side and about 3-4" from the right as well...Both areas are about 2" in width that is effected. The rest of areas are very sharp.
Also, the area effected has a very very light haze of purplish/blue. Unnoticeable unless you look carefully.
Can anyone explain what this may be and if there are any workarounds or solutions to fix this?
try installing and running 'cleartype' if you haven't already...it's designed
specifically to improve the look of type on LCD screens. Are you using the DVI cable...
that makes a difference (for the better).
Don't know about the purple haze...
Cheers,
Sounds like you are using a VGA cable/connection. Check the cable connections and make sure they are tight. Check to see if the cable is running near anything that is causing interference. As Anon mentioned, switching to DVI would likely clear this up if you have the option. If you are already using DVI, then things are sounding kind of bad - possibly a problem with the monitor itself.
Make sure you do not have any non-shielded devices near the monitor. Anything that has a magnet in it like speakers or something like that, your description sounds more in line with interference to me. Anyway hope this helps
