Ok, here's a B&W conversion of a color image I took this afternoon of my black lab, Kona. I'm a serious rookie with grayscale conversions....and I'd love to know what you all think of this. I think it's pretty good....but I see some conversions that are truly stunning. Please share comments and criticism. I'd very much like to get better at this.
Taken with a D300 / Sigma 10-20. ISO 200 @ f9.5. 1/500 sec.
The shot works well for me. Good exposure on the fur, and nice toning to minimize the background. Looks like a bit of wide angle distortion of the dog's face, but it works in the context of the comp.
