Once again I shamlelessly call upon my in-house model pool to get this unabashedly sentimental shot of Eva and her favorite flavor of ice cream - Mint Chocolate Chip!

TWO sweets!
I like the shape of the glass bowl, and I like that her dress is dark green... same color scheme as the ice cream.
Great job!
(ps - Using a kid that cute is cheating.)

Thanks so much, Carrol! I'm always happy to know that you like one of my shots! That's what I said - I shamelessly take advantage of my model pool at home whenever it is to my advantage.
All the best,
Endre

Endre,
Ok, you are out of the gate with a very sweet shot! Yes it is true to the assignment with the ice cream, but what takes the prize is the beautiful young lady that looks much sweeter then the ice cream.
Wonderful entry and congratulations!
Tom
Hello Endre,
What a beautiful shot, the lighting is perfect. Your lovely daughter does look as sweet as the ice cream. I love the expression in her eyes. What a great take on the WA.

I don't think I ever seen you come out this fast. Not to mention, you just blew the door handles right off the hinge. Your daughter is just amazing and loves her daddy!! You can tell. Such a wonderful shot and we better come strong if we even want to attempt with this one. I love it and you are such a great dad.... thats even more special to me being that I have a new daughter. Nice nice nice. Oh and by the way..."man do you have your hands full"
Strad, Once again the standard is set... Beautiful child, flattering lighting and the WA captured in multiple ways. May I ask a technical question about which camera/lens you used for this portrait and your lighting? Thanks, Thea
Here you go again Endre...........another perfect image!
'can't think of anything else to say....it's just perfect in all respects.
I need a new hobby........................................................................

Thanks so much, Nick, my friend! I always appreciate your kind comments! I got that expression by instructing her ot just go ahead and enjoy herself eating the ice cream but when I said "Look at me" she should freeze and look down the barrel of the lens. I got a n umber of good shots that way but this was the best.
Fond regards,
Endre

SHAMELESS, indeed! lol What a magnificent shot, and what a beautiful girl Eva is. The lighting and color and detail is SWEET! Bravo, maestro.
Thanks so much, Steve, my friend! As always, I really appreciate you taking so much time to write nice comments for my photo. I'm so glad you like it. I must say I had no difficulty in getting her to help with this assignment. The ice cream was a very helpful incentive. And you are right - I do think I have my hands full! I invested in a very good shotgun awhile ago since my oldest daughter, Csilla, is nearly 18. :worried:
All best wishes,
Endre

Thank you so much, Thea. It is alwys nice to get your kind comments on my photos.
I used my new Canon 5D with my 28 - 70 L lens. I am very careful about camera shake and even with high shutter speeds, I tend to like using a sturdy tripod and a cable release. Besides, for portraits I find that a cable release is very helpful because I don't have to be looking through the camera to take the shot, which results in the subject being less guarded and therefore more spontaneous. As to lighting, I always use natural light whenever possible. This was taken inside our living room with the big double doors open to the outside. I positioned Eva on a little chair and behind a low table just past where the direct sunshine fell on the living room floor. I also put a big sheet of white reflective cardboard on the table to bounce light up onto the underside of her eyes to help get rid of any shadows and to get a nice catchlight. Then I used a big piece of black velvet as a backdrop. After that, I just let her sit and enjoy the ice cream! I hope that helps.
All best wishes,
Endre
