p.1 #1 · Free Adobe Plug-In

I mentioned in an earlier Lightroom thread that I had recieved an offer from Adobe for a Free Plug-In that was valued at $399 when I purchased Lightroom. Well, it arrived today and I think I am very pleased with the freebie!!

It is Plug-In Suite 3 for Photoshop. It includes full versions of Genuine Fractals, Mask Pro, Photoframe Pro and Intellihance Pro.

I have seen a little about Genuine Fractals but I don't know much about the others. Is this going to be a useful freebie? I appreciate any advice or tips on these plug ins!

A quick search on the web for each one would reveal something about them. I hear GREAT things about mask Pro. Intellihance is ehh..

depends on if you plan on using them or need to. Mask Pro is well a masking program that does pretty well.

I'd love to know more about these plug-ins. How good are they?

Sounds like a very good deal if you wanted Lightroom anyway. Genuine Fractals works very well for upsizing, and is easy to use. I'd like to hear about your experience with Mask Pro. I have GF Pro and OnOne Software was offering these plugs in a package, but the only other one I was interested in was Mask Pro, which has been praised. I don't see that Intellihance does anything but apply canned edits that you do better custom in Photoshop, but it could be useful for fast corrections to a large number of photos. OnOne recently acquired a new resize technology, 'Liquid Resize', that sounds very interesting and is supposed to become available later this year. Methinks they'll do something like Adobe with did with DreamWeaver, incorporate the retooled program into a higher-priced package.

I really wasn't that interested in LR but GF and Mask Pro alone were a good deal for the price. GF has the reputation of being a premiere up-sizing program while Mask Pro is well thought of too. The suite installed eaisly. I suppose that I can make use of LR at some point but the controls will need some study.

Sorry for taking so long to reply - I have been out of town.

vidoprof - yeah, I checked out their website and found some good info on the plug ins. looks pretty interesting - I don't know how often I will use them but they look good.

francishmt - I will give you a link to the companies web site. it looks good!

pjbishop - I was interested in Lightroom and this kind of put me over the top. I think the two I would use most are Genuine fractals and Mask Pro. I will let you know what I think of Mask Pro - I hope I get the time to try it out soon...

SoundHound - my install on my laptop went easily. I haven't had a chance to install on my desktop. I also have a lot of studying to do on LR! I would be interested in any tips or challenges you run across in LR and the plug ins.

francishmt - this is the link to plug in package. I think the offer from LR expired at the end of February.
