Ive noticed recently that ive been getting weird blog comments that are links to spam crap......how can i avoid this ?

I have the same problem. I use blogspot and I have the moderation option turned on so that all comments need to be approved by me before they are published. WordPress claims to have a good spam filter, though I've never tried them (yet).

I get them too. Set it to moderate all comments. I get about 1-2 a day, all for the same post for some reason.
