To colorize this, did you just take a picture of the scene in color and overlay the image on top of the IR image? Also, is it really needed to mod the D70s for this? I have been fine using my D50 with just an IR filter.

Thanks for your very kind reply and comments.
This was colorized (Channel Swapped) post processing, and yes you can
achieve the same results with an un-modded camera. It will be necessary to purchase an IR Filter, something like an Hoya R72 filter, and the only thing from a pretty normal shot is that a longer shutter speed will be required and also you will need to set the white balance previous to putting the filter on and shooting, some use after shooting RAW W/B changes. The W/B should be set off some green grass to give premium results.
LIke everything else there are 100's of different methods and styles.
