I don't think there is much photographic merit in this photograph , It was raining, dull light etc., however each time I look at it , I smile . To me it's as though the hummer is talking to the garden chicken ornament. C&C welcomed and appreciated .

I agree! It makes me smile, too. And that's photographic merit!
Well put.
The image could probably be improved some by adding more contrast and lightening up a bit.
In addition, I did a quick clone-out of the flower since it distracts from your main subject.
See what you think:
Fun shot; thanks for posting!

When I looked at this photo on file this morning it made me think spring is just ahead . And of course I smiled . For contrast, temperature outside is about -18 degrees farhenhiet with about 3 ft of snow still on the ground north of Montreal about a 100 miles. So you can see why I am looking forward to spring. Thanks for your encouragement.

I like what you did , no doubt it improves the photo at lot . Thank you . I will have to do more of that type of work . For some reason I am to much of a purist and don't do much work in Photoshop other than to crop , a bit colour or light adjustment and resizing .
I'm the guy who is still fly fishing with the basic stuff while others are catching the fish.

Well, I respect your approach, Alan!
I rarely "clone" things out of my shots or do other types of "heavy" adjustments; but I almost ALWAYS do some type of Tweaking with Levels to create a bit more contrast, and sometime a bit of sharpening, too.
