Umm, where do the stairs go?? I'm dying to know. The stairs to no where, the light on in the middle of the night. Is it Jacob's ladder and there is one true light in the dark to lead us? The three (father, son, and Holy Ghost) pillars at the bottom of the stairs. Is that the Ten Commandments next to the lighted window! This is a metaphysical mind-bender, or I've just been on my cold medication too long.

P.S.~ Here is a small color version. I have a version in B&W with the window in color, but I felt in that one the color window fought too much visually with the staircase.
Nice image Thomas. The pole in the middle divides the scene nicely between the windows on the right and the stairs on the left, and the shadows spill into both.
