Here's some flowers in a swamp I shot early this morning. Wide open, of course. Not as nice as Ronan's water photo, but shows that 85/1.2L delivers with consistency.
My boss is a professional commercial photographer who has been shooting for the past 30 years. He uses zooms on his canon (16-35, 24-70, 70-200) - when I got my 85L and 35L we did some tests to compare them - after we looked at the results he called Calumet and bought a 24L, 35L, 85L, 135L - we used my 85 and 35 on a shoot today and the images are just far superior than the zooms - I'll never go back!

it's odd, the majority of the pros I assist use zooms. Only 1 uses all primes . . .
fantastic images.. If you dont mind my asking, what apperture did you shoot #5 & #6? The subject isolation is like none I have seen. Any specific PP being done to acchive it?
I recently got the 85 1.8, it has quickly become my fav lens to take photos of my newborn and before that pregnant wife. After seeing what the 1.2 can do, I can completely see how many have fallen in love with it and how hard it may become for me to avoid the temptation. Well, a FF cam will have to come first so I can exploit the 50 1.3 & 85 1.8 to thier intended design and then the 1.2 may become next on my wish list.
