I use a hand strap now. I never used camera straps, they had a tendency to catch on things and pull the camera out of my hands!
Back in my wedding days, I had an assistant with a big camera back whose job was to carry extra MF bodies and load film magazines. I only wanted to have the camera I was using on my person.

Never mind - upstrap-pro.com. Never used them, but they look really ugly.
Ugly maybe but you can't get a better shoulder strap than this. It won't slip even on the edge of your shoulder with a pro body and a long f/2.8 zoom on it. Just don't use it as a neck strap, it will probably give you a rash on the back of your neck...
Last year I shot with someone who had modified their strap to allow for more movement. I feel in love with the idea and modified it further to lengthen the strap to allow me to wear two bodies, on across from each shoulder, to provide flexibility of prime/zoom for different situations. I am in love with my strap changes and have used them repeatedly with good success. The strap cost was very cheap but I feel the benefit is a vast improvement over having the things around my neck which left them to swing and bang together. Drove me nuts. This way, I can drop one down to my side and grab the second without even looking. Or I can direct posing or movement with both hands and keep right on working. It really helps me by giving me more confidence and feeling able to move. I have found that there are a number of commerical products that mimic the same design that I found for myself for simply $2-3.
I use an OpTech Pro shoulder strap for the D300 + 85 1.4 candids/ceremony combo. No straps on the D3 with 24-70 - too many vertical shots to have the strap repeatedly fall down over the eyepiece! Yeah, my arm gets sore but there's always a pew or table to set the beast down for a minute to rest or use the D300 combo.
If I'm working out, curls only with the left arm since the right one gets plenty of reps

Ron
I am thinking about trying the Blackrapid straps - which model do you guys use?? I generally carry 2 cameras - one in front and one of shoulder - but am ready for a change.
