Your photos look great, and your site looks great! I didn't have time to view everything but I think your wedding shots are wonderful. I really like how your site takes up the entire screen (and I have 1920 x 1200 res, so the background photos are HUGE!) I have seen similar sites...where did you buy that site design just out of curiosity? I would like to see what else they have. GOOD JOB! Oh, and congrats on the DWF photo of the year!
Please tell us the background behind your DWF picture! I'd love to know the story...
I love the site, and by far some of the most creative photography I've seen in a while. Very refreshing to see something different. The ONLY thing that I saw that I could possibly critique is the retouching of the brides' faces. The airbrushing is a little too heavy for me, too porcelain. However, this just my opinion. In certain situations, this would fit.
P.S. Your strongest work is your senior work. Very strong composition and great eye that fits what the senior high generation wants to look like. Great job!
First, congrats on the first photo. I know it won an award lately and I think it is a touching photo.
Honest critique--
1. Ballerina photos. Over half of them look like you are a proud dad taking photos of your kid at their recital. That isn't to say they aren't good photographs, but my theory has always been, a photographer is judged by their worst ten photos. These photos (especially being top of the list) don't scream "WOW" to me. They diminish some great work later on.
2. Senior photos. Some amazing images. My only pet peeve is in some of the poses. If you look at the classic master painters and the top model shots, they all aspire to the natural female "S" curve. When you have a woman angle her head back behind her shoulders, you make it look very unnatural. Have their heads angle into the body it will complete the curve (bent knee to angle back, turn shoulder to angle forward and complete the S).
3. The slide show images are fantastic. Perhaps taking out the images in your wedding gallery that don't really have the same impact would raise the level of presentation. There are a LOT of images to chomp through.
4. In your INFO section. Can you relive details? It read awkward. "Rob Sigler offers one price coverage of your day ..." That doesn't sound right. Maybe "There is only one price for wedding coverage at Rob Sigler Photography ..." Also there shouldn't be a common between "... ready at the salon to the laughter ..."
You can't travel virtually anywhere if you actually travel there.
5. THE BOOKS. In a series, try to make them all similar. Also stick with action verbs. I suggest "Your wedding album is a family keepsake. Show your future generations that love, friendship and fun every wedding should aspire to be."
6. THE TEAM. I would suggest "Rob Sigler is Jamestown, N.Y., photographer who has recieved international accolades for his work. With support from his wife, Jamie and photographer Jim Hall, Rob Sigler Photographer provides the expertise and professionalism that is unequalled in Western New York."
Hey Rob good work and good site. I think you present yourself well.
The one thing I would do is consider removing the first image off the site or at least relocating to the gallery. It is a very powerful image that stirs up your emotions. Especially, if you ever had a sick parent which many people have gone through. I just don't think that is the way people should get introduced to you with those type of emotions and thoughts in there head. I hope you get what I am trying to say.
Awesome work .. I saw your site some months ago while browsing for wedding sites .. your work is top drawer, and the full screen presentation is great.
Thanks guys for all of the great feedback. I'm kinda torn on the splash page image...It is the image that won the award, so I want to show it, but I know it's different from the usual church wedding.
Thanks DragonflyDM for the really useful comments.
Nice images....but I am not really fond of the site....too busy and confusing.
I am not really a fan of flash and any sit that has music really turns me ( and customers) off.
Is there a shot of the Harrisburg Capitol building in there?
Hi Rob,
I'm not a big fan of the site interface. However, most of the images are quite good. I'd look at getting rid of the "cheesy" factor in a few (if you think it applies to an image, it does). Your moments are fantastic, but they are drug down some by the not great group portraits with cheesy setups. Overall, very fine work, though.

I really liked your photography and for that I would hire you to do a wedding. I was not a big fan of your web site. Rather than offer a bunch of specifics, here is the link to another FMers site (just a little below your topic on this page).
You will have to copy and paste. Again, I like your photos and I am not saying I like his photos better. I just like his web site a lot better. It is much cleaner and easier to navigate.
You have lots of good images for sure. Don't like the site much though. It is as someone said already a little confusing. The white links bottom left are hard to see. On the splash screen the enter site link is too low.
Nice site I only took a few minutes to look around but i have one question. I did not see any where you had contact information on how to get a hold of you did i miss it somewhere.
WHen you're on the INFO page, you can no longer see the buttons at the bottom b/c they blend in with the dress. Shots look great. I aggree that your main page shot (the award winner) might be a really moving shot, but doesn't make me want hire you just because its depressing to me.
