Now, I have become much more of a purist these days (no real manipulation) but I would be tempted to clone out the slightly distracting rocks up top. But, tempted, that is...
Very cool, I like it! I love that mix of tree's and like you say that is not a common mix. As to being tempted... I would hate to put myself into a corner, but I might have to give in to it myself as it is a rather small corner...
It is unique as is. Leave the rocks and color palette. If you change either one then it becomes an aspen shot much like the thousands of others you've already seen....
Love the lollipop aspens. I see the same blue cast that Roman does though. Its particularly evident in the aspen trunks. Awesome find and a great shot.
a) slight crop top and bottom to remove a few of the 'distracting' rocks at the top but still keep a consistant frame within the frame above and below the aspens
b) a curves adjustment to remove about 70% of the blue cast (curves highlight dropper using brightest white trunk, opacity set at 70%). Thanks Roman & AJ. Especially for the reminder that it was time to calibrate the La Cie! I left some of the blue, and this is initially why it didn't appear so unnatural to me, because the clear, cyan rich, late afternoon sun hiding behind the western canyon wall was creating a lot of blue in the very reflective white trunks. Let me know if this version is better . . .
