p.1 #1 · Old homestead panos

I hope to be able to make more regular appearances here in the landscape forum, it looks like a great place to learn.

On my way to the Flinders Ranges a few weeks back I camped the night at Burra, South Australia where I came across this scene.
This first one is evening, in the final moments of sunlight. Both are seven shot stitches with PTGui.

This one was taken early the next morning. Any comments good, bad or otherwise would be appreciated.

Very nice shots. Sort of reminds me of the shot on the Midnight Oils Diesel and Dust album.

Thanks Klaus.
I just googled the Midnight Oil cover. It's the same place!

Hello Wayne,

Interesting image. The place has kind of a barren, forlorn look to it. A bit sad that all the effort in building the place didn't pay off. In any event, thanks for sharing the image.

Hi Wayne, glad to see you posting on this forum. I think the learning experience here is a mutual one. Having already had the pleasure of viewing your work on the hosting side of this site, I think we too can learn much from you. Your work is top notch and look forward to seeing more posted here. These are fine panos and the different looks are wonderfully done.

Great shots. I like both of them. The pano crop is very effective for this subject.

They are both great, but the second is more interesting. The bright reds of the brick rubble against the soft grass tone is really nice.

Hey Wayne,

Very nice work, and it's good to see you posting more shots. I like them both, you balanced both shots well in each composition with the shack. I do like #2 the best, because I think the lighting is the strongest in that one, and the sky is the best.
