That is indeed some color in that lake, almost like the sky is trapped in the ground! Wouldn't hurt to have a little more room on the right side of the image IMO. The snow on the mountains and light on those trees really gives a great atmosphere, nice work again

You are right Floris, giving the right side a bit more room to breath would be wonderful but there is a hill, trees and rock right there that makes that kind of comp impossible. That is why everyone who shoots it shoots it pretty much a similar way. I did hike around and almost down to the lake but it seemed to me that near the main vantage point, where all the tourists come, is a pop spot for a reason...
That great beauty is why it's a "hot spot" of course.
Great shot of this precious Rockies icon. You have the colour and flat, almost dead look, of the water absolutely spot on.
There is a higher vantage point that enables you to get the whole of the lake in with a wide-angle (24 on a full-frame) by following one of a myriad of paths up above the lake. I've been visiting this beautiful site since about 1970 and was only directed to the spot this last September. It's well worth looking for - and there are no other people there.
Lovely shot. Another time when you can get a great look to the scene, is when there are cloud shadows on the blue.

Martin, thanks for the tip! Next time I'll give it a try. Thanks for the feedback too.
