To start with I'm no scholar when it comes to Photoshop. It's definately a (long) work in progress with me.
My Problem: Don't know how I did it and don't know how to get it back.....but when I use the Crop Tool and I indicate a certain ratio like 4x6, instead of being inches, it is now cropping to "px". Even when I try to add a new tool preset, it is now "px".
So any help on this matter would be much appreciated.
Some Clarification: OS is Win XP. When I hit the clear button, it does clear ir but it defaults to PX. If I enter 4 in it will stay 4in until I change it and it will revert to PX.
This was never an issue....I used to just put whatever numbers in there and it would just default to inches. Now for some reason....it is PX.
UPDATE: Found the problem.....the rulers were also in pixels which automatically defaults the crop to whatever the ruler selection is. To change the default, right click on the ruler and the choices are there to select.
You could try deleting your Photoshop prefs (preferences) file, so that it will recreate it. Go to Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings, where UserName is your user name. You'll see a file named Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs.psp. Change the .psp file extension to .bak. That way, Photoshop will think that the file is missing and recreate it, however you still have your current one (available by renaming the .bak to .psp).
