I like both also Philly.........but prefer the second, it has a more dynamic appeal to me and i like the lighting....as someone stated it's 'cleaner' which goes nicely with the theme
GREAT SHOTS

Hi Philly. See what you do when you put up nice work and give us an option? The shot is nice and simplistic. The background is the only thing and that is a matter of preference, so I say, go with your initial gut instinct. There are so many times that we change it up because of opinion and this and that, but wish we stuck with the gut. So that is what I am saying.
While both shots are great, I really think the first one is something special. The lighting is wonderful, the picture just glows. Well done!! Nice work.

Great shots. I like the second one, but really love the first one. Normally, I think I would like the cleaner background, but the texture of the first one really adds to the shot in my view. Just a very lovely shot. Good luck this week.
My vote is for the first one, for sure. What a lovely image. The lighting gives it a very warm and dreamy feel. Very well done. Happy New Year! Good luck.

Hi Peter! Thanks so much for looking, and the super input. At this point, it seems as though the men prefer the second one, and the gals like the first. Wonder if that means anything?
I'm glad you liked them both, and really do appreciate you!!

Hi Steve! So, like Bill, you're staying to the middle, huh?
Thanks so much for looking, and your well thought out neutral input.
You made me laugh.

Hi Nick! I'm glad Fred finally fixed the glitch on your thread so I could post for your entry, my friend.
SO! You are the first of the guys to prefer the first one, and that's nice. I used natural light from a north side double patio door, but it was cloudy yesterday, so I didn't know what kind of light I'd end up with. I did warm it up a bit in PP.
Thanks so much for looking, and the super input!! You reinforced my confidence in #1.

Hi Steve! Yippie! Another vote for #1 from a guy. That makes me happy. The ivy is growing in a natural colored wicker basket so I shot it both ways for the reasons you mentioned. I liked the texture and warmth of the brown tones with the green, too.
Thank you for using the word 'lovely.' I'd like to think it's a lovely image.
